American pop singer Taylor Swift, who has had 13 number one album debuts since 2008’s “Fearless”, has once again had the number one album in America with the release of “1989” (Taylor’s Version). It’s also her biggest sales week ever, with 1.653 million units sold, beating her previous high of 1.287 million for the original release of 1989, according to Billboard.

The number one debut for the re-recorded 1989 is the biggest sales week for any album since Adele’s 25 in 2015. It’s the sixth biggest sales week of all time, behind albums by Adele, NSync, Eminem and Backstreet Boys. According to Billboard, the album’s sales were driven by its many collectible editions and vinyl variants.

The US vocalist reached another chart milestone earlier this year when “Cruel Summer” debuted at number one on the Songs chart, tying her with Stevie Wonder and Janet Jackson for the ninth most number one songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
