Californian punk rock legends Green Day have announced details of a new album “Saviors” and released a new single entitled “The American Dream Is Killing Me“. Watch the official music video below.
The forthcoming album will be the pop-punk trio’s 14th studio LP and their first full-length release since 2020’s “Father Of All Motherfuckers”. It is due for release on 19 January 2024 via Reprise/Warner and can be pre-ordered here.
According to the band, “The American Dream Is Killing Me” was one of the last songs written and recorded for “Saviors”.
“As soon we cut it, we said, ‘Okay, that’s going first,’” said frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, who described the new song as “a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people – in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”
The LP was co-produced by the legendary Rob Cavallo – who has not only worked with the likes of My Chemical Romance, Paramore and Linkin Park, but famously produced classic Green Day albums like 1994’s “Dookie”, 2004’s “American Idiot”, and more.
