The online channel Avant TV is celebrating its first decade of content creation by rebranding itself as the Fundación Cultural Avant TV (Avant TV Cultural Foundation). This marks the start of the release of its work produced for various media outlets across Chile, now via its official channel, which already has over 250,000 views.
With the aim of bringing cultures, heritage and knowledge to new audiences through the creation and dissemination of high-quality audiovisual content, accessible free of charge and on a permanent basis, the foundation sees ‘accessible, modern and engaging language’ as the key to educating people and connecting them with Chile’s tangible and intangible heritage, according to Mauro Alfaro, the organisation’s founder and executive producer: “We believe that culture is a fundamental tool for strengthening identity, preserving memory and creating new learning opportunities“.
Accompanying him are executive producer Wagner Samaniego and director Ana María Pincheira Schulin-Zeuthen. They reaffirm their commitment to promoting culture both nationally and internationally by gradually releasing the various episodes that have enriched their catalogue over the past ten years.
The director explains the ethos of the foundation: “We create cultural content that connects people with knowledge in a relatable, contemporary way that is accessible to all. We are a multidisciplinary team of audiovisual professionals who are passionate about culture.”
Fundación Cultural Avant TV
With over fifteen years’ experience developing projects for television, digital platforms and public and private institutions, the foundation has produced: “Un Canto para No Olvidar” (2013, music and memory), “Memento, Historia de Monumentos” (’16–’17, 13C, heritage), “Migrantes: Tu Cultura en Mi País” (2018, CNN Chile, feature), “”Arquitectos” (2021), amongst others, which complement its current programme: cultural museums in the regions, Avant TV features, “Viaje Circular” (Megamedia), and visits to Miami’s Art Deco district or Wynwood Walls, to name but a few.
Today, Fundación Cultural Avant TV is embarking on a new phase focused on developing audiovisual projects with a national and international reach, fostering partnerships with public and private institutions, universities, and cultural organisations to broaden access to knowledge and strengthen the promotion of Chilean heritage. And watch out, as new content is set to premiere in August: Avant TV On Tour: San Agustín, Florida.
“It all began over nine years ago with the creation of Avant Visual Producciones, founded and directed by Mauro Alfaro, which marked the start of a journey dedicated to creating audiovisual content that preserves and promotes Chilean culture […] Today we are taking it a step further with the creation of the Avant TV Cultural Foundation and a new online cultural channel, extending that commitment to bring culture, heritage and knowledge to people in Chile and around the world”, said Ana María Pincheira Schulin-Zeuthen, Director at Fundación Cultural Avant TV.
